Bringing clean water to communities...

A personal journey from emptiness to meaning, by Mr. Abdul, (Business Consultant, Kuwait).
I used to think I had it all - a decent income, a comfortable home, and a routine that many would envy. But deep down, something was missing. I couldn't explain it. I laughed, I traveled, I bought things I didn't need. But every night, when the lights went out, I felt this quiet emptiness sitting with me.
One day, while scrolling through my phone, I came across a short video. A little girl, no older than five, was using a dirty tin can to scoop brown water from a small pit. Her face was innocent, but her eyes looked tired – too tired for someone that young. Something about that moment struck me. It felt like Allah had opened my heart in that instant.
That evening, instead of moving on like I usually would, I made a small donation - just enough to contribute to a borehole project in a village I had never heard of.
Weeks later, I received a photo of that finished water project. It had two clean water tanks raised high, children gathered around, smiling and filling their buckets – some even dancing under the taps. And right there, on a small plaque, was my name.
I wept.
It wasn't from sadness. It was from something I had never felt before: a deep, pure kind of joy. It was like I had finally found what my soul had been searching for. Purpose. Meaning. Real happiness.
That small act of giving didn't just bring water to a village - it gave me life.
Since then, I've become a committed donor. I share their stories. I pray for them. I remember that little girl and ask Allah to protect her. Giving didn't take anything from me - it gave me everything.
And now, whenever I feel lost or overwhelmed, I give again. Because each time I do, I feel closer to Allah... and closer to who I'm meant to be.
